Hope u are ready for some levity from our HALLOWEEN THEME NIGHT on Zoom last Thursday, Oct. 29th! The 1st photo above was taken by Phil & I, but then Nancy Drew added the special magic effects near our wands Lol! I took the pic above of Jasper Cat at the end of the evening... we were pooped Lol.

From Thurs. OCT. 29th Zoom! Presenting Magician Mindia, her lovely assistant Phil, & Jasper Cat... the Real Magic Show! Our 8th annual Halloween event WOW.
And Phil thought he was getting out of wearing a costume this year since on Zoom. It takes tremendous effort & strategy to get him to dress up every year. But it's my fave holiday & the deal is... If we host a dance party, we need to dress up. So not only did Phil have to dress up, but he had to go along with an entire theme concept & magic show script! (My brother said to try not to overwhelm the guy Lol.) Lots of silliness all night. The most impressive magic I did was to get Phil to participate. He did work hard to help me create the set design. And we conjured up a fun playlist of songs. Somehow I got Phil to also agree to be my magician assistant, & to switch our teaching roles all night. Many surprises. He did come up with some good ideas along the way. Did I mention that I got Phil to wear a purple tie with spiders on it? With my matching purple glasses on his hat.

See schedule below. We design these line dances especially for small spaces, for people at home during the pandemic. They will integrate West Coast Swing rhythms, syncopations, & styling. Please join & share FB invite. And invite your friends.

When adding the Advanced WCS level, we decided to use our famous "Build on the Intermediate class" concept, to make the harder level class transition smoother.

Zoom is FREE, & very user friendly. You can use your cell phone, tablet, or computer. Preferably a computer, since it has a bigger screen. (You do not need an account.) If possible, hook up your computer to your TV set for a larger image. Then we can all be TV stars.
If you are new to zoom, join the class 10 minutes early for a tutorial. No extra fee Lol. *Please no sharing of the link with anyone else. (We will keep track of a class list.) If you know anyone interested in our zoom classes, please have them contact us directly.
We are hoping to improve the quality of our videos from zoom. The whole zoom thing is quite a work in progress.

1. We love connecting with people on Zoom. So many great advantages. Meet people's pets Lol.
2. Community has always been so important to us. Please keep our dance family together during these trying times. Come meet some great new people who have joined us. Our Zoom dance classes have had ages 6 to 85 WOW! We have had people from Canada, & many areas from the US. Last night, we had people from Nebraska, Florida, & New Mexico in classes. So exciting. We also have chat time before, in between, & after classes. Great to socialize. Like we used to in person.
3. We honestly really need your support. We are doing all that we can to keep our dance business going. If you have not tried a Zoom class with us, please do so. Would love to see you.
During such challenging times, it helps a lot to be with you, dancing again. Although not ideal, we are so grateful to have Zoom to connect. For those of you who we are still missing, & have not tried Zoom, please give it a chance. And we could really use the support right now, to keep things going. Teaching dance is our career; we have no day jobs. Some skeptics are now saying they love zoom dancing with us. It really is an amazing platform to help us be together. If you have questions or need help, prior to class, let us know. Phil has decent tech support skills Lol. An eight-five year old student of ours zoomed with us this week on Tuesday & Thursday... a first timer on Zoom. Anybody can do it yay!

ZOOM CLASS DISCLAIMER: MANDATORY READ, BUT ENTERTAINING.
Normally in our classes, we have new students sign a one time liability waiver, as per our insurance company's protocol. Since we cannot give you a waiver in person for now, for all upcoming zoom classes that we teach, we are not liable for any injuries/ issues with participants. This includes:
1. Broken furniture due to arm styling or dancing out of your slot etc.
2. Trip & fall, due to your pet in the way.
3. Mental distress due to separation anxiety, since you can't be with us in person.

***NOTE***
As far as the Pandemic... we are supporting precautions to still stay home as much as possible, & to use social distancing (minimum 6 feet) & masks etc. when out in public. Things are worsening in many areas of California & elsewhere. We have a huge responsibility to our dance family, & do not want to take chances on any "in person" dance stuff, before we think it's safe. Between Phil & I, we have had six family members who have had Coronavirus. Fortunately they are all ok now, but it was very scary. That definitely has been an influence on our cautiousness. So we will watch & wait for awhile. Thank goodness for Zoom options. Not ideal, but at least we can be together & dance!
CALL YOU OUT!
Here is where we get to pick on our readers, instead of each other Lol. Alan dressed up as Phil, for his costume. He had a black & white flag t-shirt, with a cat on it. And a purple splash of color in his hair, on top Lolol. But Phil is calling out Alan for having the wrong hair color. Phil's hair is not purple anymore... it's gray.

Being that things are so up in the air this year, & most WCS dance events are being cancelled/postponed in 2020 around the world, it's difficult to commit & plan to working on the routine. What is your interest level at this point? Please let us know if you want to start working on the routine (via Zoom), with or without a partner, even with the uncertainty of the situation.

*DANCE DVD'S!: Payment & Options: Dance DVSs are $35 each (plus tax if credit card payment). Credit card payments are available in person, (or cash or check in person is fine also), or through our web store. If order your DVDs through our website, you have the option to click the "pick up at class" option (to avoid shipping charges), or you can have them shipped.

* All of our classes are drop-in (some do run in a series). No partner needed for any of our classes. No prior dance experience needed for Beginner classes. Two left feet are welcomed; we will introduce you to your right foot! (Phil wanted credit for that last comment.)
* Once you have moved up from our Beginner level classes to Intermediate and then later Advanced, you are welcome to continue taking our Beginner classes for FREE! We want to encourage you to continue working on your basics; that is most important to develop a strong foundation. The best dancers usually are the ones who have worked on their basics for years. When you keep taking Beginner classes, you are also helping the new students to progress faster, since they get to rotate & dance with more experienced dancers.
